The view from the Manor House never fails to disappoint, especially in summer when we are often treated to glorious sunsets.
Looking across Oban Bay with its moored yachts and passing ferries, fishing boats and tour boats is the isle of Kerrera, a peaceful island rich in wildlife, flora and fauna as well as its own castle, Gylen, with its commanding views up and down the Firth of Lorne.
Beyond Kerrera is the Isle of Lismore, an unspoiled and tranquil island that lies right in the middle of the Firth of Lorne. As a former major centre of Celtic Christianity it is rich in history and well worth a visit if you want to ‘get away from it all’.
To the north of Lismore the bleak but beautiful Morvern Peninsula beckons. It is steeped in history and is a great place to visit if you want to experience Scotland at its rugged best.
