Many visitors to Oban and the surrounding area want to immerse themselves in Scottish tradition and culture. One of the most popular ways of doing this is to visit some of the many whisky distilleries that are dotted up and down Scotland’s west coast.
Every distillery in Scotland produces malt whisky with its own unique qualities and it’s fun to go on a tour of a few distilleries and compare the whiskies’ appearance, nose, and flavours. Almost all distilleries provide tours where visitors can see how the whisky is made as well as sample a ‘wee dram’.
2015 is Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink so what better time to come and explore Scotland’s rich whisky heritage.
The Manor House Hotel is centrally located in Oban making it an ideal base to explore most of Scotland’s west coast distilleries.
